Get Involved
First and foremost, you can help by praying for the Trust and for Chengelo School. There are some helpful prayer pointers below.
One of the key functions of the Trust is to fundraise for school projects. You can see a little about how this money is used by visiting the About the Trust page.
Here are some ways you can be involved:
Donate
It’s easy to give a financial gift directly to the work of Chengelo Educational Trust.
The quickest way to give a one-time or monthly donation is by using our JustGiving page.
If you’re a UK taxpayer, we’d appreciate if you included Gift Aid so the Trust can claim an additional 25%.
Fundraising
Why not organise a simple event to help raise funds for the Trust? Past examples of events hosted by members include concerts, sales and sponsored projects. We’d love to chat about your ideas, so get in touch via the contact page to tell us what you have in mind.
Legacies
Another way you can support Chengelo is to include the Trust in your will.

‘Easy Fundraising’
‘Easy Fundraising’ is a way to raise money for a charity whilst you shop online. You can register online here, selecting Chengelo Educational Trust as your chosen charity.
Once you’ve registered, you can shop online at 2000 retailers including Amazon, Argos, M&S and Boots, and the retailer will give money to your chosen charity. Just make sure you always use the links on the site, rather than visiting the retailers directly!
Items for sale
Greetings Cards
These sets of high quality cards feature photographs taken by members of staff at Chengelo school and are offered for sale in aid of the Trust.
The cards are approximately 15cm by 10.5cm and cost £5 for a pack of 10, including envelopes. There is a small postage charge which varies based on how many packs you order. You can let us know that you’d like to place an order via our contact page!
Book – ‘As a Witness to the Light’
This book, written by Jeremy Collingwood, is ‘The Story of Chengelo School in Zambia’, and is a fascinating and inspiring read.

Prayer Pointers (click to open)
- There are regular vacancies at the school. Please pray that the right people will see the advertisements and apply.
- Pray for safety, particularly as students and parents travel to and from the school.
- Pray for the school’s management team.
- Pray for the Zambian government, particularly the education department as they write policies which affect the country’s future.
For more specific prayer needs a prayer letter is sent periodically. If you would like to receive this, please get in touch via our contact page, remembering to include your e-mail address and a brief statement outlining your links with the school.
