About the Trust

The Chengelo Educational Trust exists to support Chengelo school in Zambia in many ways! Here are a just few of them:

Student Bursaries

Workers’ Housing

School Projects

Equipment & Resources

The Trust came in to being in 1992, shortly after the school was itself founded. In 1988 the Trustees of Mkushi Fellowship, Zambia, came together to start Chengelo school, with the aim of providing sound academic learning and physical development within a Christian, multiracial environment.

In addition to fundraising, the Trust provides support via:

  • Prayer for the school, its staff and its pupils
  • Raising interest in the school with news and updates
  • Representing Chengelo in the UK through regional associates
  • Sourcing and providing equipment for the school
  • Reclaiming tax related to gift aid donations
  • Hosting an annual Fellowship Day, attended by school staff and alumni

Our loyal team of trustees provides oversight for the Trust and its activities.  We are meeting in Zambia House in London for our trustees meeting on Saturday 13th October 2019.  At this meeting we will be welcoming a new member to the Board – soon to be updated here.
